Going back to the basics: Lori Foster

Give to Caesar what's Caesar's and to... I know many a person might consider me a heathen for opening this post with a passage from the Bible, but it couldn't be more apropos. So I ask you, dear reader, to be lenient with me here.
A few years back I was a reader with a strict trend towards young adult literature, but one day, a friend of mine, who shall remain nameless, introduced me to erotica romance and I have been hooked ever since. It was love at the very first book and it so happens that the author that worked as cupid for this romance was-surprise, surprise- no other than: Lori Foster's with: Impetuous (http://www.amazon.com/Impetuous-Famous-Firsts-Lori-Foster/dp/0373200072/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1362028004&sr=1-1&keywords=impetuous%2C+lori+foster).

One week back now- I heard that she was in the process of writing a new series: Undercover love. And well, I am a sucker for the tall, dark and handsome type of character- and that woman knows how to nail that...she even takes it to another level- adding a little bit of alpha to the mix. Having the first book down, I am patiently awaiting for the second book in the series.

Well, excuse me while I punch the next person I see right in the face. 'Cause I'd not mind a bit being manhandled by this COP! I promise to be good being real bad (making my family proud one word at the time)

I gave the book 4 stars out of five. I really liked the characters she presented and felt connected enough to all of them to look forward to their respective stories in the series. I can hardly wait for book 2: Bare it all- Detective Reese Bareden

Ebook Steal!-- Exclusively Yours (The Kowalsky Family)

Hello, bookworms (note that it is said with all the love of the world).
   As recently as two weeks ago, after I typed the words free read and romance on the Amazon searching box, I found this new author: Shannon Stacey. Ok, I'll be the first to admit that I am going all Cristobal Columbus over this. You see...I do realize that this is not her (Shannon Stacey) first rodeo, but since I only met her, well, two week ago...she is new to me...and for so I'll declare I have discovered her!
    Enough of that! As I was saying, I was feeling blue and cheap (meaning: I had no money), so I rolled through Amazon's free ebooks list without setting high hopes for the hunt, because let's face it, more often than not, those free reads are retina melting bad...but surprise of surprises: Exclusively Yours was ah-mazing! The story is sexy, fast-paced, funny and with well developed characters that will leave you smiling at the end. The story begins when Keri Daniel's editor finds out she had one to one  knowledge of Joe Kowalski, reclusive best-selling author...and this all happened 10 years ago. Keri's boss doesn't care her relationship with the man ended badly...she actually sets an ultimatum upon her head; either get an interview or get kicked out. But Joe has plans of his own...oh, he'll give her the interview, but it's going to cost her. I'll leave it to you to find out the price.

The story does not end there...well, Keri and Joe's does, but not for the rest. You may not know me, but I heartily recommend the Kowalsky Family series by Shannon Stacey and by the power invested in me (wink, wink) I approve this message. Prepare for a good laugh.

New writer to love: Erica Stevens (Captive Series)

Hello, book lovers. 

As I scrolled through the free kindle reads list of the day, I found this amazing book titled Captured, by Erica Stevens. It is a free ebook with an unpresumptuous yet eye-calling cover; a simple bloodied white rose. (See below the text for the image) The book is a dystopian novel and it tells the story of Aria and Braith. The story is set in alternate reality in which the world is dominated and reigned by a vampires monarchy and its brethren. After centuries of living from the shadows and being hunted almost to extinction, the vampires declared war to humans and reversed the roles, as in any war, the victor takes the spoils. The human sector was then divided in two, those who willingly became slaves and servants to the vampires and those who openly opposed their authority and formed part of the rebels. The rebels are being hunted through the wood to extinction and when captured they are either blood drained or turned into blood slave. The story begins when its main character is captured and then turned into a blood slave. The whole novel is fast paced; has secrets, misunderstands, love, intrigue...and an ending that'll make you want to keep reading. While the first book is free, the rest is not, but hey, an author has to eat, right? But not to worry, the writer is rather conscious of the economy and the prices are quite low ($ 2.99); not bad, huh? Hope you enjoy your reading!

So long no read, huh!

Well, I guess I must first apologize for the long overdue post. I hope this is a good start.
So...if you like to read historic-romances and you have no idea of who Julian Quinn or Sarah Maclean are...then my friend, you are in for a treat.
First off, let's start with Julia (yes, I call her Julia as though we were old pals; see here, in my mind we are friends...yes, don't tell her that, this might be crossing into stalking or creepy territory) I would recommend that you start with her Bridgerton's series..at the end I promise you'll feel like the unacknowledged last member of their motley crew. The order of the series is as follow
1. The Duke and I
2. The Viscount who loved me
3. An offer from a gentleman
4. Romancing Mr. Bridgerton
5. To Sir Philip with love
6. When he was wicked
7. It's in his kiss

There is another book of hers that I highly recommend: The Diaries of Miss Miranda Cheever (this book is beautifully written)
Okay...second off: Sarah Maclean...this lady is bloody awesome. That's right...I said bloody, and even though I am not english or australian, I make no apologies for it...deal with it.  As I was saying...her numbered series is beautiful and compelling. The first book is Nine rules to break when romancing a Rake (I know, loooooong title, but hey, I can't change it so what r u going to do). The book depicts the story and breaking the mold kind of adventures of Miss Calpurnia Hartwell and Marquise Gabriel St. John. She is a decidedly wallflower, situation she has come to by no choice of her own. At the opening of the story she overhears an unflattering chat about her person: she is described as passive, missish and worst of all, as a woman destined to be forever alone but that must console with the idea of being an aunt...and that was her sister and brother in law (ouch-tough love anyone).  After that she decides to turn a new leaf...through nine rules that will most definitely be broken, with Gabriel as the companion and sometimes the mean to break those rules.
She has another series titled: The fallen angels. It is also a historical romance series. Her last book is dedicated to all bespectacled woman out there, for the main character wears glasses. I know this might sound boring but trust me, i know I am not doing justice to the book as I write this. This book melted my heart and pulled me to a bygone era through the writer words. Loved it. So check it out.
